Vanuatu is unique in its natural, scenic and historical heritage. The Y-shaped chain of 83 islands offer a diverse range of scenery from towering volcanoes to raised coral atolls with sandy beaches that are washed by the clean waters of the Pacific Ocean. Each island has its own distinct culture and language.

Dining

Efate Island is the home of Port Vila, the nation’s capital and its French influence makes dining out a fabulous experience with many excellent restaurants.

Snorkeling and Diving

Vanuatu is a paradise for divers and snorkelers. Efate accesses some of the best dive sites in the South Pacific with wrecks, reefs, drop off and caves to explore. On the North side of the island is Dive Hat Island with a host of Gorgonia fans, soft corals, sea whips and numerous tunnels. Hideaway Island has excellent snorkelling and dive sites including a clown fish colony and the world’s first Underwater Oost Office. There are many fishing and diving charter companies that will help you find the catch of the day. All easily accessible from the Pango area.

Shopping

Downtown Port Vila holds wonderful organic fruit and vegetable markets. The flowers of the island make the entrance to the market a delight. The women’s market has local handmade product to purchase.

For those who enjoy shopping Port Vila is a duty free shopping paradise.
